Hav u ever lost your mobile phone from ur hostel, office, or while travellin...wel, 6 months bak, i lost ma brand new Sony Ericsson K750i frm ma hostel...sumone frm te hostel must've taken it, but datz another story...the pangs of losin a costly mobile is too difficult 2 xplain, esp if u hav any emotional attachments wid it...n if at all v were 2 lodge a complaint wid te local police station, u cant xpect any difference...in my case, wen i went to te local police station, te Inspector asked me to bring al ma belongings 2 te police station n dat he'll sit a vigil 4 it( wat a sarcasm...this is people's police, our own Kerala Police)...anyways, i got maself a copy of FIR written...te funniest part is dat in it was written dat they had cum 2 te hostel 2 make a primary investigation n found nothing...wow....
But ma idea of gettin a FIR is somethng diff...i had heard dat mobile companies can block te mobile phone using te IMEI number upon receivin a copy of FIR...so whoever tuk te mobile wud hav 2 use it as a paper weight...dat was ma idea of revenge...wel, it turned out dat only Nokia was doin it in India...that was news 2 me...so screw te rest f te mobile manufacturers... wel, as a next step, i sent a mail 2 al te leadin mobile network providers along wid te details of robbery n FIR n IMEI number so that they cud track down my mobile in case a sim of their company is used by sumone...only Idea Cellular replied positively(hats off 2 Aditya Birla) sayin that they wud check te IMEI no for 3 months n revert bak in case of findin anythng...whether they did is sumthng different...others replied dat they dun do it...sum didnt even hav te courtsey of replyin...datz Customer Satisfaction in India...
But it was now,6 months later , dat i came to knw dat actually there is a Cyber Cell workin in Kerala under te supervision of SP of each district and wid HQ at Cochin that helps in tracin out stolen mobiles along wid investigatin other cyber crimes....al u need to do is to check their website http://www.cyberkeralam.in:8888/berker/ n make an id n login...there u can register ur complaint.. for people in Cochin, they can go directly to the cell...even though itz too late, i've registered a complaint...bettr late than never...letz c if i get bak ma mobile...n i hope dat dis wil help ppl who face a similar situation whr i din hav any help frm te Internet or State Police..but first, do block ur sim n get a duplicate sim as fast as possible...
